Your best option may be to cut your losses now before you get taken to the cleaners. "cant spent to much money" tells me, this is by far your best option. You'll thank me later when your kid is out of college and you have enough cash to buy a much better Z with no maintenance needs because you didn't waste money on half-assed repairs on a rough car while trying to bankroll college for somebody. Turbos are not something on this car you even want to entertain skimping on. If the car is just a fun/cool beater and you just want to keep it on the road at minimal expense, you can try a used turbo, but it will still cost you a pretty penny for labor to replace it. I personally wouldnt expect anyone to do it for less than $1k.....and it still may fail two weeks after installation.
